Below that threshold we print the city and its space count and no price at all. We also withhold a minimum, a maximum and any per-type figure under the same rule, and we never convert between currencies: each city is aggregated in its own. Each one freezes the whole index, so a past median cannot be rewritten later. ## About the data ### Methodology The index publishes two figures side by side, because they answer different questions and rest on different samples. MEDIAN DESK is the median monthly price per desk: private-office prices are divided by that room's own seat count (never the building's total capacity) to reach a per-seat basis. It is the true like-for-like number, but it can only be computed for listings that publish a seat count, so its sample is the smaller of the two. MEDIAN ENTRY PRICE is the median of each building's cheapest advertised monthly price, counted once per building and NOT divided by seats — so it covers listings that publish a price but no capacity, which the per-desk figure has to skip. It is not a per-desk price and must never be read as one. For both: day/week/year billing is converted to a monthly equivalent; day passes, meeting rooms, hourly rates and on-request prices are excluded; each city is aggregated in its own currency; and we use the median, not the average, so a single outlier never distorts the index.
