# FizzHub Valencia

FizzHub occupies a single building on Carrer d'Alexandre VI, in Russafa, and it is organised in a way almost no other coworking space in Valencia is: around a sunken amphitheatre. The ground floor and the mezzanine above it hold seven numbered workspaces, from Espacio 1 to Espacio 7, and every one of them is sold by the seat rather than by the room. That one decision shapes everything else here.

Those tiers are the agora, or la grada as the house calls it, and at 101 square metres it is the reason to look at this building at all. Broad steps finished in the same pink-washed mortar as the floor climb toward a wall of exposed brick, scattered with orange and blush cushions, with a platform and a designer sofa at one end and a central table with eight high stools. It is rigged like a small venue rather than a meeting room: an Epson EB L735U projector on a 450 by 350 motorised screen, three Minrray PTZ full-HD cameras controlled over IP for streaming, a Roland V1 video mixer, a four-input audio mixer and a hundred-watt speaker. The seating dismantles entirely, turning the middle of the building into clear floor. Events and training here are stated to hold up to 140 people.

The seven workspaces divide between the ground floor and the mezzanine reached by the central staircase. Espacio 3, at 73 square metres for up to fourteen, sits at the centre of the plan opposite the meeting rooms; Espacio 4, at 80 square metres for ten, faces the agora and has the shortest walk to everything. Upstairs, Espacio 5 and Espacio 6 look down over the tiers, the second a compact thirty square metres for seven. The two ends of the range are the exceptions: Espacio 1 is a genuinely independent unit of 65 square metres with its own street door, its own bathroom and a rear connection to the common areas, and Espacio 7 is a pair of enclosed offices behind a glass door, one of two seats and one of up to four, with a bathroom of its own.

Prices are quoted per person per month rather than by the room, and the gap between the two commitment lengths is real money: every space is cheaper on a one-year contract than on six. Read the rates per seat and the shape of the offer becomes clear. An enclosed door costs roughly twice an open position on the same floor, the mezzanine and the ground floor sit at the same level as each other, and the independent unit with its own entrance carries the premium you would expect for a front door of your own.

This is a building for a formed team. There is no hot desk here, no day pass and no published month-to-month rate, and several of the spaces carry minimums — sixteen people for Espacio 1, ten for Espacio 3, six for Espacio 6 and five for Espacio 7. Where it works unusually well is for a studio of eight or twelve that wants a defined patch of a well-made floor, with a venue attached that it does not have to hire elsewhere, and room to grow into the next space up without changing address.

The rooms you book rather than rent are priced separately, by the hour, the half day or the full day. Meeting rooms B and C are nine square metres for four; room A is thirteen square metres for nine, with a large interactive whiteboard wired to the internet. The training room takes eighteen people and also books in two-hour blocks, and a twenty-square-metre photo studio under the mezzanine — three Nanlite heads, two gridded Godox softboxes, a cyclorama, a colour-accurate monitor — goes by the half or full day. A workspace comes with the ordinary things done properly: fibre, daily cleaning, an ergonomic chair and lockers, air conditioning, an alarm, entry by facial recognition or code, reception of visitors and parcels, reverse-osmosis water, bicycle parking and an outdoor patio with tables.

Russafa is why many will want this particular building. The old village the Eixample grew around and swallowed kept its own grid of narrow streets and its own market, and over two decades it has become the part of Valencia where the design studios, the galleries and the good small bars concentrate. It is the address you choose when you would rather your team ate lunch somewhere interesting than in a business park, and the reason a building this theatrical makes sense here.
