# Mindspace Salvatorplatz

The Kreuzviertel is the quietest quarter of Munich's Altstadt, and it stays that way because almost nothing there is retail. It is the block of streets north-west of the Residenz where the ministries, the Literaturhaus, the Archbishop's palace and a set of publishing houses sit behind plain stone facades, and where the loudest thing on a weekday morning is a delivery van. Mindspace Salvatorplatz is in the middle of it, at Salvatorplatz 3, directly opposite the Literaturhaus and beside the late-Gothic Salvatorkirche that gives the square its name.

The setting explains what kind of workspace this is. It is the smallest of the three Munich buildings and the most restrained: a stone facade with a glazed link bridge, private offices with a desk at the window, one long shared worktable under a run of artwork, and a meeting room finished with botanical prints and pale wood chairs. There is no roof terrace and no event floor. What there is, is quiet — genuinely quiet, in a way that a building on Karlsplatz or at the Viktualienmarkt cannot be, because the street outside is not carrying twenty thousand people a day.

Odeonsplatz is a two-minute walk, which is a better transport position than the address suggests: the U3, U4, U5 and U6 all stop there, so you have direct trains to Marienplatz, Sendlinger Tor, Schwabing, the Olympiapark and the eastern suburbs without changing. Marienplatz itself is about seven minutes on foot through the Fünf Höfe arcades. The Hofgarten, the Theatinerkirche and the Residenz are all inside five minutes, and Maximilianstraße — Munich's luxury retail street and the address of choice for law firms — begins a few blocks south-east. The Englischer Garten starts a ten-minute walk north, which makes the lunch break unusually good.

The offer here is focused. Two things are sold here: a day pass and meeting rooms by the hour. There is no bookable private day office, no event space rate and no all-access membership sold from this building. What you are choosing is the address rather than the amenity list — the Kreuzviertel, not a rooftop.

That address is worth taking seriously. If your work is client-facing and your clients are lawyers, publishers, foundations or civil servants, being at Salvatorplatz rather than a fifteen-minute tram ride away is worth real money, and the address does part of the introduction for you.

The day-to-day inclusions are the Mindspace standard and are all present: wifi, phone booths, lounge areas, a coffee and soda bar, printers and IT support, bike parking, weekly community and professional events, and access around the clock rather than only during reception hours. Dogs are welcome throughout. The building is small enough that the community is a handful of people you will actually come to know rather than a rotating crowd.

For a private office on a longer term, Mindspace quotes on request; they do not publish a monthly private-office rate anywhere in Germany. Given that this building does not sell a day office either, a team that needs a closed room should ask about a private office here directly, or look at Stachus, ten minutes west, where a day office is bookable outright.

It suits solo professionals, small consultancies and anyone whose business benefits from an Altstadt address in the quiet quarter — and anyone who values quiet over a terrace or an event space.
