# Mindspace Viktualienmarkt

Mindspace Viktualienmarkt is not sold the way the other German buildings are. There is exactly one product available online here: a day pass. No all-access membership, no bookable private office, no published event rate. It is a drop-in location, built around the room and the address.

Here is what the day buys. The main room is a wide lounge floor with kilim rugs over the boards, deep blue velvet banquettes, green armchairs, a chesterfield or two, brass pendant lamps and wall sconces, and a bar running along the back. Off it there is a reading nook set against green library shelving, a meeting room with a wooden table and a red gallery wall, and a room that gets laid out for dinners. It is one of the more distinctive interiors in Munich's flexible-office stock — this is a room people photograph, not a floor plate.

And here is the location, which is really the point. Rosental 7 sits in the Angerviertel, at the edge of the Viktualienmarkt itself — the open-air food market that has run in the middle of the Altstadt since 1807, with its beer garden under the maypole, its cheese and fish and flower stalls, and the Schrannenhalle at the southern end. Marienplatz is a three-minute walk. Sendlinger Tor and Isartor are both about eight. Everything a visitor to Munich would want to see is within ten minutes of the door, and lunch is a market stall rather than a sandwich chain.

That combination — a beautiful room, a market outside, Marienplatz around the corner, and no monthly commitment on offer — makes the audience for this building quite specific. It suits someone in Munich for a day or a few days who wants somewhere genuinely good to work between meetings. It suits a visitor whose company has an All Access membership bought elsewhere in the network. It suits a founder who wants to spend one day a week somewhere that does not look like an office. And it suits anyone who has been told to work from Munich for a stretch and would rather do it in the Altstadt than in a hotel lobby.

For a private day office or an event space in the Altstadt, Stachus is about ten minutes away on foot. Private offices, team suites and meeting-room hire do exist at Viktualienmarkt; they are simply arranged directly with Mindspace rather than booked online, so a team that wants the room for a workshop should ask rather than assume.

The included list is the network standard: wifi, phone booths, lounge areas, a coffee and soda bar, printers and IT support, bike parking, weekly community and professional events, and access around the clock. Dogs are welcome — this is a building where that is visibly true rather than a line on a website.

One practical note about the neighbourhood. The Viktualienmarkt is one of Munich's busiest addresses, and the streets around the Angerviertel carry serious pedestrian traffic from mid-morning onwards. Inside, the building is calm; outside, it is the Altstadt at full volume. If that sounds like a distraction, Salvatorplatz is the quiet alternative. If it sounds like the reason to come into town, this is your building.

Finally, a word on what the day pass does not include, since the pricing here is unusually simple. It is a seat in the shared space, not a reserved desk and not a private room; if you need a door that closes for part of the day, the meeting room has to be arranged separately with the team on site. Arriving early on a market morning is worth doing anyway — the Viktualienmarkt is at its best before the tour groups reach it, and the building is quiet enough at that hour to get the difficult work done before the city wakes up.
