# Regus The Space

Congleton has a nickname that few towns would choose: Bear Town. Local legend says the town spent its bear-baiting money on a Bible after its bear died, and the bear still turns up in local symbols. The tale gives the place its humour, but the town has a sober economy underneath, and Regus The Space, 35-37 High Street, CW12 1AX, is where that economy can find a professional address. The centre sits on the High Street, in the area known as the Market Quarter, which Regus says is benefiting from regeneration.

What do you get? The building offers coworking desks in an open-plan workspace, private offices for teams, and meeting rooms for clients, interviews, workshops and training. The listing names a lounge area and meeting rooms, and Regus talks about sitting, standing and huddling: the furniture and layout allow people to change how they work during the day. The centre has Wi-Fi, a staffed reception, printing, and a kitchen for the usual coffee and tea.

The Space is useful for people who do not want to commute to Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent or Macclesfield every day. Congleton is described by Regus as an affluent and well-connected part of Cheshire, and the town has a mix of independent shops, cafés and restaurants on its high street, as well as Congleton Park, a short way from the centre, for a break between calls. The train station is about a mile from the building and has direct services to Stoke-on-Trent and to Manchester, which is why many professionals live in the town. By road, the M6 is about seven miles away, and parking is available near the centre for staff and visitors.

Who is it for? Local accountants, solicitors, surveyors and financial advisers who want to see clients in a proper meeting room rather than at home. Freelance designers, writers, developers and consultants who live in east Cheshire and the Staffordshire Moorlands and want to work among people. Small firms that need a second office near their customers. And groups that hire the meeting rooms for training, workshops and corporate events, a use that Regus highlights for the centre.

How does it differ from the bigger Regus centres in the region? The Space is a small-town centre, so the atmosphere is friendly and the rates are usually lower than in Manchester or Chester, although prices depend on availability and we do not quote them. You will know the people at the next desk, the receptionist will know your clients, and the town centre gives you everything for the day within a short stroll.

Before you commit, ask for a visit, look at the open-plan area and a private office, and test the meeting room that you would use most. Ask how long a minimum term is, how the 24-hour access works and whether a business address is available for your registered office.

Think about how the building fits a week. On Monday a consultant might use a desk in the open-plan area; on Wednesday the whole team might gather in a private office for a planning session; on Friday a trainer might hire a meeting room for a half-day course for local staff. The range of uses, from a single hot desk to a room for a group, is one reason Regus describes the centre as covering everything from co-working to client meetings, training, presentations and corporate events. Because Congleton is compact, a short walk takes you from the front door to the shops and cafés, so a client visit can include a coffee on the High Street.

The final cost depends on the size of the office, the term and what is free on your dates. CoworkingView does not set it and cannot promise availability. Ask with your team size and start date, and compare the offer with other options in east Cheshire before you decide.
