# Techtelmechtel Friedrichshain

Techtelmechtel is a 330-square-metre coworking floor and event space set inside a converted factory building in Friedrichshain, just around the corner from Ostkreuz — one of Berlin's best-connected transit hubs and, by Techtelmechtel's own count, one of the highest concentrations of restaurants anywhere in the city. Run by a small, hands-on team who also live and breathe tech, the space is built specifically around focused work, meaningful exchange between founders and developers, and the day-to-day business of shipping digital products.

The floor keeps its industrial bones — exposed concrete, tall windows and a loft-like openness — while filling them with plants, proper ergonomic desk chairs and a genuinely well-loved kitchen with a stove, microwave, fridge and one of the best views in the building. Coffee is taken seriously here: two specialty beans, dedicated grinders and a full espresso setup with cow's milk and plant-based alternatives, all included in every membership, along with soft drinks. Four generously sized, well-ventilated phone booths keep calls private and the rest of the floor calm, and two conference rooms host both member meetings and Techtelmechtel's own recurring tech and entrepreneurship meetups.

Membership is refreshingly simple and playfully named: drop in with Friends with Benefits for one flexible day a month, commit to Situationship for unlimited flexible-desk access, or go all-in with Going Steady for a fixed desk and 24/7 key access. Every tier includes Slack access, a business address and mail handling, so freelancers and small teams can run a real company from day one without a long lease.

Getting here is easy: the Jessnerstraße bus stop is right outside, about two minutes on foot, and Ostkreuz — with the S3, S41, S42, S5, S7 and S8 plus multiple bus lines — is roughly ten minutes away, putting the rest of Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and central Berlin firmly within reach.
